The Story about Ping

Oh goodness! Is it time for school again already?! I suppose it is, but I am still on a mental vacation and on California time to boot!

Since this year we add a new student to the mix, E-5 is starting kindergarten, I thought it would be fun to start out the year with the first FIAR book we ever rowed. So this is what G-7 and E-5 will be studying for the next week.

The Story About Ping!

Math:
Ping's family HSS
Ducks in a pond tlsbooks (K)

E-5 thought this was great fun, as a side note we used a C battery rather than a D, since that's what we had on hand. He was so excited to be doing school and is upset that I didn't teach him to read yet!

That is a "candle" built by D-13. They all participated in the flashlight building and he decided to build a candle, he also wants to figure out how to build an actual flashlight and is working on that now.

History/Geography:

China Outline Map EL
Flag of China EL or here ABCteach

That sounds like so much fun. I bet D is building as he has an inquisitive mind.
M looks like she loves teaching her little brother. The older ones must be great help. Teach that boy to read. LOL

I was just reminded of Ping last night as my husband was giving our chickens a whack to get them back in the coop last night! ;)

Ping is a wonderful story, and what a great way to also introduce China and the Olympics.
