Homeschool Memoirs
Oh dear!! We are supposed to post our planned homeschool routine. Seriously? routine?! Oh dear.
Okay, our routine goes something like this:
6-10: Sheri's morning time. Typically I drink my coffee, bible reading and prayer time, check my email, make breakfast for the kids, chat with my mom, workout, begin chores, etc. During this time D-13 will often do a whole lot of reading and his Science.
10-11:30 or 12: Get the three big kids settled in on math, in the living room work on phonics with E-5, also work on counting with counting bears. (He skips 16 every single time!) Make Mike's lunch. Make kids lunches.
1:15- to whenever : back to school, work on FIAR with the little boys. Have the big kids begin research on whatever they are reading. Once little guys are done read MOH together as a family and discuss. Little boys are excused to play. Big kids and I all sit down together to go over Unit studies.
It's fairly simple and things move left and right. up and down, backward and forward. I am sure I left something out, but that's the gist of it.
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might….
Ecclesiastes 9:10 NIV

I LOVE your routine! You are very organized!
Oh, and my daughter used to skip 16, too. And my son skips 8. That's so funny kids do that!
That is a good routine. I always think I don't have a routine, because things don't happen the same time every day. But mostly they happen, so I think it is a routine...
I thought it was hilarious he skips 16 everytime... kids just get stuck on stuff sometimes...
Thanks for sharing!

My kids skipped the ones they had trouble pronouncing, like thirteen and fourteen.
That's a good routine. things get done when they need to be withouth a lot of pressure.
I wrongly assumed, in reference to your blog title, you had all girls.
Loved the peek into your routine, Sheri. I'm constantly trying to tweak mine. :-)

Thanks for your comment. You seem so very well organized. I'm amazed at how much less guilt I feel because we're getting stuff done - much as I love flexibility, there is something to be said for some degree of routine/scheduling.
