organizer
My friend Michele shared this pen/pencil organizer on her blog yesterday. I looked at it, thought "That's cute" and that was it.
Until today. When we couldn't find pencils or scissors or sigh...rulers. So I decided to follow her lead and create one. Admittedly, I am a little concerned about the glass, but we'll see how it goes.
The directions were simple. Pick up a lazy susan (for the record: this one was my MIL's. I believe it is circa 1968. She gave me two that she wasn't using a few years ago. I LOVE these things, and now everytime I see that Avacado green I'll think of Gwena!), cut a piece of scrapbook paper to lay inside the lazy susan (just for a little curb appeal), laminate the paper on both sides, lay in the lazy susan and top with some empty jars.
Fill with pens, pencils, random items (she put candy in one of hers!!) and Voila!! Free organization!
Please check Michele's out though because her 'organizer' is way cuter than mine!
One note: The big kids are cracking jokes left and right at my expense. I stole the lazy susan from my baking cabinet. They said tomorrow morning I will open it up and attempt to spin the baking powder and salt around for 5 minutes before I realize the lazy susan is missing. You should have seen their very well thought out dramatizations! I am so lucky to have them and to sit back and crack up with them, even if my ego is in danger LOL!
A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.

You all have always had good laughs at my expense. I was able to laugh along. It is great to see you reaping your rewards. LOL
Love the lazy susan. So cute.
If you are concened about jars, cover empty cans with paper or paint them and use them, Also a nice touch.
Cans is a great idea, I am going to do one and use the bright colored acrylic glasses in different colors, shapes and sizes. That will be great for Girls nite out. Thanks for sharing..
It looks great! I was a little concerned about the glass infact I had purchased some green plastic cups at the $1 store, but liked the clear look much better for some reason. I've threatened them with not picking up the glass. All they are interested in right now is spinning it! :)

This is a cute idea and I love the green. :) So... when you are bleary eyed in the morning, have you um spun the baking power wondering what's wrong. lol I only ask because I would. I can't function before 10am (okay so some days it takes me until noon before I feel human.) and borrowing mine from the spice cabinet has disaster written all over it.
I have mine stashed in the little rubbermaid drawer things. You know the short small ones with 3 drawers? I have 2 of them with the kids supplies in them. Then after school, they store nicely in the closet so we can eat at the table. But this idea is so much cuter.
So cute. Love the idea.
